text: Jun. 1-30. With the agreement of his wife domina Aeliz and his sons, Johannes de Ibelino dominus de Arsur makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, masking a sale, to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, represented by frater Petrus de Veteri Brivata domus Hospitalis Jerosolimitani magister. The Order already owns half of the mills of Tres Pontes. Johannes now gives the other half, together with the island adjoining them, which is situated between them and Vetus Pons, over which runs the road to Arsur. The land extends as far as the large stream called Jorgilra that flows below the hill [turon] called filie de Comar and then as far as the Vetus Pons, where a boundary between the land of the Hospital of St John and that of the lord of Arsur is marked. The other boundary runs from the mills to another stream flowing from Jorgilia. In return the magister and brothers of the Hospital of St John give Johannes 3000 besants. Witnesses: of the fideles of the lord of Arsur, dominus Johannes de Cauquelie; dominus Johannes de Margato; dominus Johannes de Merlo; dominus Nicholaus de Barate; dominus Johannes de Logia; dominus Hugo Joppensis; dominus Gervasius de Maugastel; and others.

text: Aug. 1-31. Johan de Gibeleth, the son of the late Guillaume de Gibeleth, records under seal that he has reached agreement with the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, represented by frere Guillaume de Chasteauneuf maistre, over a dispute about the grinding [moiture] of his mill called the molin de la Mer, which the Order claimed he had given as an eleemosynary grant to its commandery [maison] in Tripoli. He confirms that the commandery [maison] in Tripoli can grind freely each week 100 marcibans of wheat, of the measure of the port of Tripoli, for the brothers, the sick and its household [mahnée], employing the first grindstone at the mill that it finds unused. If the full measure cannot be ground in one week, it can be made up the next, but should there be a failure through the fault of the brothers or their men, or because the mill breaks down, the amount cannot be recovered.
