Raymond II, Dei gratia comes Tripolis, and Hodierna, eadem gratia Tripolis comitissa, make an eleemosynary grant, to the benefit of the souls of Counts Raymond I, Bertrand, William Jordan and Pons, and Raymond’s mother Sicilia, to the abbey of Mt Tabor, represented by Gaufridus abbas, Martinus prior, Garnerius monachus and Pontius Renuardi. They confirm the abbey’s possession of a casale called Bethamum/Bethsamum, with all its appurtenances, including a small part [particula] of it towards Bethelion/Bethelyon which was seized by Georgius Syrus. The territory of the casale ends in the east with the old road running between Botsoflam and Bethsamum. To the south it extends as far as the old road near Bethelyon; to the west as far as the land of St Mary of the Latins; and to the north as far as the casale of Petrus de Podio Laurentii called Monscucul. The abbot of Mt Tabor promises that a lamp will be lit on Mt Tabor for the souls of the count’s relations. Raymond II, Dei gratia Tripolitanus comes, and his wife Hodierna Tripolitana comitissa, daughter of the king of Jerusalem, make an eleemosynary gift to Patriarch William of Jerusalem and the canons of the Holy Sepulchre. They grant the right to export from the port of Tripoli oil and all other produce the canons have harvested in the county and anything they have bought for the use of the church and canons of the Holy Sepulchre without paying duty [sine omni mercede]. Raymond and Hodierna confirm everything given to the Holy Sepulchre by Count Raymond of St Gilles and Counts Bertrand and Pons, except for Sanctus Georgius [in Montanis]. Raymond II, Dei gratia Tripolitanus comes, and his wife Hodierna Tripolis comitissa, daughter of the king of Jerusalem, record that at the request of Patriarch William of Jerusalem, who was returning from Antioch, and of his suffragans, Fulcherius Tyrensis archiepiscopus, Robertus Nazarenus archiepiscopus, Bernardus Sydoniensis episcopus and many others, who were with him, they gave the church and canons of the Holy Sepulchre freedom to import and export through the port of Tripoli anything they needed without paying duty. Raymond and Hodierna add a sealed eleemosynary grant, confirming everything given to the church and canons of the Holy Sepulchre by Count Raymond of St Gilles, his nephew William Jordan, Counts Bertrand and Pons and all the barones or terrarii, with the exception of Sanctus Georgius [in Montanis].
