With the consent of his chapter, Robertus ecclesie sancte Marie de Latina in Iherusalem abbas approves under seal the sale made by the nobilis vir Iohannes Griffus, with the agreement of his wife Maria, in the burgess court of Acre [in curia Acconensi] to frater Lutolfus preceptor et locum magistri tenens and the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans of a pecia terre situated near Acre. Iohannes Griffus and his wife held the land from St Mary of the Latins for an annual rent of 5 gold Saracen besants. The land is bounded on the east by the vineyard of Michael de Ierusalem, on the west by the garden of Pandolfus, on the south partly by the garden of the Knights Templar [355] and partly by the garden of Andreas de Wienna, and on the north by the garden of dominus Rollandus. Its entrance is from the public way before the garden of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. The Hospital of St Mary of the Germans will pay St Mary of the Latins the rent [census] of 5 gold Saracen besants on every Feast of All Saints, according to the usages and custom of the kingdom of Jerusalem [secundum usus et consuetudinem regni Ierosolimitani].
