text: Jan. 1 – Feb. 5. Patriarch William of Jerusalem confirms with his seal in favour of Petrus ęcclesię Sepulcri Domini prior and the canons of the Holy Sepulchre the Rule of life constituted by Patriarch Arnulf and everything that they have been given in the Levant and in Europe. He specifies the following: half the oblations to the Holy Sepulchre; two thirds of the money for lights, with the other third going to the patriarch; oblations to the relic of the True Cross, except for those on Good Friday, when they go the patriarch; the tithes of the city of Jerusalem and the lands adjacent to it, except for the tithes from the funda, which belong to the patriarch; half of everything King Baldwin I handed over in an exchange relating to the bishopric of Bethlehem; the church of St Peter in the city of Jaffa; the church of Sanctus Lazarus [at Bethany] and the 4 casalia of Benehatiᶒ, Benehabeth, Ragabam and Roma, which were given by King Baldwin I; the villani and their families given by the same king; the church at Quarantena, which had belonged to the patriarch; all the ovens in Jerusalem given by Duke [dux] Godfrey [of Bouillon], except for two which were transferred to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem for the use of the poor and one which was transferred to the abbey of St Mary of the Latins; all the casalia given to the Holy Sepulchre by Duke Godfrey and confirmed in a charter from King Baldwin I; 4 casalia, called Gith, Capharruth, Crefesilta and Porphiria, which were given by Rogerius Ramathesis episcopus.
