Melisende, divina largiente clementia Iherosolimorum regina, with the consent of her sons King Baldwin III and Amalricus Ioppensium comes, renounces under seal her claims against the canons of the Holy Sepulchre, with respect to the villani of Bethsuric, namely Selmen filius Maadi; Habderahmen; Selim; Hasem; Nasen; Mekedem/Melpedem/Melpeclem; Seleemen; Sade; Brahin; Kannet; Nasser; Ariz; Mahmut; Zafer; Demsis; Resselem; Tameh; Rosec; Sahe; Salem filius Sade and the others, and the land in the casale. The canons are to have these as freely as they did in the time of Duke Godfrey [of Bouillon]. Melisende confirms the canons’ rights over the Suriani of Kalandria called Cosmas, Semhan/Seimahian, Samuel, Ihanna, Meferreg and Gerges, in exchange for a statio, which had belonged to Willelmus Bastardus, and the shares the canons had in 2 tables of money-changers [mensae nummulariorum] so that Melisende could construct a new ruga in Jerusalem. Melisende also renounces claims she had had on Suriani of Ramathes, called Bolferag, Jacob, Brahim and Ysaac, and on a vineyard that domna Geltidis, the wife of the lord Rohardus had left as an eleemosynary gift on her death. Raymond III, Dei gratia Tripolis comes, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to the abbey of Mt Tabor and Johannes abbas, to benefit particularly his parents and predecessors and the soul of domicella Aelise de camera Eschive comitissa. He confirms the gift made by Aelize on her deathbed of 2 adjoining gardens on the plain under Mont Pèlerin. To the east these gardens are bordered by the garden that belonged to Nicholaus Scriba. On the side facing towards Tripoli they are bordered by the garden of S. Maria de Turri and by the garden that belonged to Bertranus Milonis. [Towards Mt Pèlerin they are bordered by the garden of Dalmatius de Valriaz]. [171] The gift has been made on condition that a priest at the abbey shall celebrate Mass for Aelize every day and that her obit will be commemorated annually as if she was a monk. Cardinal Soffred of St Praxedis and Cardinal Peter of St Marcellus, the papal legates, record that Bauduinus de Martinsart [who has died] had made an eleemosynary grant to the Knights Templar of a rent of wheat, to be drawn from his property in France. His testament had been witnessed by the nobles Rajnerius de Manni and E. de Manni, who swore to this in the cardinals’ presence. Other witnesses were Hugo de Alneto, Johannes Codart and the noble Johannes de Bielle, who as the lord of B[auduinus] confirmed the gift. The cardinals also confirm the grant.

Henricus comes Ruthenensis, who is gravely ill, confirms under seal his earlier testament [October 18 1221], adding that he wishes his body to be treated by the Hospital as it would one of its brothers. He also leaves the Knights Templar property in France. He leaves the Hospital all the possessions and horses he has in the East. The magister of the Hospital should pay the legacies he has left to his household [familia], with reimbursement from his property in France should the costs exceed what he has in the East. He orders that the following debts be repaid after his death: 100 marcae to Arnaldus Garebertus de Gordone and Petrus Donadeu; 30 marcae to Guilelmus de Haurac; 1000 solidi Turonenses to Geraldus de Rocaforti; 200 besants to Petrus Braidu; 50 besants each to Miro de Ruppe, Guido de Valentia and Berlo; 58 solidi realium de Accon and 7 besants to Petrus Arces.
