Considering the benefit to their church, Girardus sacrosancte et primitive ecclesie montis Syon abbas and his convent lease under seal a pecia terre situated in the territory of Acre in the place called Mons suspensorum to the magister and brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans for a rent [census] of 20 Saracen besants of Acre weight, payable by the treasury of the Hospital of St Mary each year on 1 March, although the rent could be remitted should the Hospital of St Mary provide Mt Sion with a place in Acre that returns the same rent. There was an exchange of deeds [litterae patentes capituli sigillo roboratae] and a promise to guarantee the exchange according to the usages and customs of the kingdom or the city of Acre [usus et consuetudines patrie seu civitatis Accon]. The land is bordered on the east by land of the Knights Templar, [362] on the west, signified by the abbey of Mt Sion’s mark, by the back of the garden of the Knights Templar, which is located near the cemetery of St Nicholas, on the north by land of St Lazarus of Bethany and on the south by a the public street [strata publica].
