text: Sept. 1-30. Guido dominus Bibliensis makes an eleemosynary grant, in particular for the souls of his sons Henricus, Raimundus and Bertrandus, to the Cistercian abbey of La Ferté. He gives the abbey of Sanctus Sergius, which is situated on the mountain above Biblium, between Sancta Anastasia and Sanctus Blasius, together with the casale de Soram, the limits of which are marked on the west towards the sea with a cross carved on a rock, signifying its boundary with Hotai, on the south towards Caphartavas, where the border, marked with crosses, runs between a sarcophagus and the public way, on the east towards Zardas, where there are 6 crosses running as far as a monument [claperius] and through a valley to the depth of a great cava, marking the boundary with Besebim. Guido gives the right to grind wheat and barley in his mills whenever necessary, without any payment of dues. He gives the casale called Effdar superius and a gastina called Berora, together with its rustici, called Brain, Monfarege and Seit. Casale Effar superius is bounded on the east by a stone monument [claperius petrarum] from which the border runs south to the public way leading to the fons de Amarseir and then to the limits of Amarseir. On the north there are 3 stones marked with crosses in the direction of a cava and towards the sea there is a cross carved in stone. He also gives a garden next to the sea by the beach, called Gapsarmelee, with a well and cistern, bordering on the seashore, where there was a Muslim graveyard [cimiterium Sarracenorum].The garden and its land is bounded on the east by the public way, on the north by a garden called Hamdaraca, on the south by the sea shore and on the west by the garden wall. He also gives 3 sugar-loaves, to be taken each year from the sugar plantations by the river of Biblium. He gives the casale called Arsexta, which is bounded on the east by the casale de Quils. This boundary, stretching through the valley to a watercourse, is marked by a stone cross below the public way, together with 2 other crosses on a large rock, one looking south and the other north, towards a stone monument [claperius petrarum]. On the left hand side a cross in a stone markes the boundary with Zardas, and along the valley towards the watercourse there are 4 crosses in stone stretching to the boundary with Deiseminar. 6 other crosses mark the boundary with Beserlin. Guido has invested Petrus abbas Sancti Sergii with these properties.

initiator: Guido dominus Biblii
recipient: Johannes de Maschina
institution: Saint Sergius
text: Dec. 1-24. Guido dominus Biblii issues a sealed confirmation to Johannes abbas Sancti Sergii in the presence of frater Johannes monachus Cistercii. He confirms the sale to the Cistercian brothers of Sanctus Sergius by Johannes de Maschina of an olive grove [campus olivarum] on the plain before Biblium, above Sanctus Theodorus, and a vineyard adjoining it for 60 Saracen besants. The grove and vineyard have a wall to the east, the public way to the west, another wall to the north and the church of Sanctus Theodorus to the south. The confirmation is conditional on the Cistercian retaining the abbey of Sanctus Sergius. Should they abandon it, the grove and vineyard will revert to Guido, who also confirms his eleemosynary grant of 1-30 September 1238. Witnesses: Guillelmus Forneas castellanus; Leo miles; Thomas miles; Johannes Angelers miles; Angelerus miles; Garnerius miles.
