text: Dec. 4. Lateran. At the request of the bishop and chapter of Mt Sinai, Pope Honorius III reconfirms papal protection. He grants them freedom from the payment of tithes on lands cultivated by themselves before the Fourth Lateran Council, and on noval lands cultivated by themselves and producing animal fodder. He confirms their right to freedom from secular exactions.
