Responding to a complaint from men from Montpellier in Acre that an imperial ban on the ships [naves et vasselli] of Marseille sailing to Acre has made it impossible for Montpellier merchants, accustomed to travel in the ships of Marseille, to trade, Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicile rex, concedes under seal that in future men from Montpellier can bring their goods and merchandise in other ships and can enter and leave Acre through the cathena, paying what is due, as previously. Witnesses: Balyanus domnus Sydonis; Oddo de Montebelyardo comestabulus regni Ierosolimitani; Thomas comes Acerrarum balius ejusdem regni; Iohannes de Ybelino; Guarnerius Alemannus; Aymarus nepos fratris Aymari; and others.

text: Apr. 21-30. Acre. - Wishing to reward the Pisans for their fidelity and services, Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, records under seal that Malpillus, Pipinus and Buitus, the consules of the Pisans in Acre, have shown him evidence of the Pisan contribution to the preservation of the kingdom of Jerusalem. He therefore confirms the full liberty the Pisans enjoy in Acre to import and export horses and other mounts. No baiulus appointed by Frederick or his heirs is to make an special prohibition, unless it is one that is generally inposed. The Pisans are to enjoy all their rights in the kingdom of Jerusalem and Frederick orders his baiuli in Tyre and Jaffa to maintain the Pisans in all their rights and possessions. Appreciative of the fidelity and services of Malpillus, Pipinus and Buitus, the consules of the Pisans in Acre, and of the contribution made by the Pisans to the preservation of the kingdom of Jerusalem, Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, makes a sealed grant to the Pisans, giving them a curia and freedom in the city of Jerusalem, with the right of coming and going with their goods and merchandise.
