An assembly establishes that the brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans should follow in future the regulations of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem with respect to the treatment of the poor and sick and the regulations of the Knights Templar with respect to its clergy, milites and other brothers. With respect to the claims of the magister and brothers of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem to authority over the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans, Pope Gregory IX orders the brothers of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans in Acre, who have been claiming that with the death of their magister they are not held to reply immediately to the Holy See, to answer to the charges of the Hospital of St John and present their case to the Holy See by the next 30 November.
