November 22. Viterbo. Pope Alexander IV writes to all the Christian faithful, relating that the master and brothers of the house of the Lepers of St Lazarus of Jerusalem in Acre explained to him in a petition that they have begun to repair their hospital, which is quite old, with an expensive work, but the completion of this work exceeds their means. The pope invites the faithful of Christ to give alms and other charity for this purpose, offering donors an indulgence of 100 days, valid for five years.
