May 7. Lateran. Pope Alexander IV writes to Archbishop [Gilles] and the chapter of Tyre, relating that he wishes their church, which was founded in honour of the Holy Cross, as is claimed, to be frequented with fitting honours, so he grants an indulgence of 100 days of penance enjoined on them to all those truly penitent and who have confessed who visit the church annually on the feasts of the Holy Cross and of St John the Evangelist, in whose honour the main altar of the church was consecrated, and in the seven days that follow.
