April 1 – 30. Acre. Florentius, bishop of Acre, and the chapter of his church. A dispute has arisen with William of Chastel Neuf (Guillelmus de Castronovo) and his convent over a house which had belonged to Philippa, late wife of Guillelmus Capenegre, located in vico balnei S. Johannis. On the east it is bounded by a certain Hospitaller curia; on the west is the public road; to the south is a house belonging to the Hospital which had belonged to the late Philippa; to the north the entrance to the Hospitaller aforementioned curia. The bishop claims it is his by virtue of a grant made by Philippa whereas the Order says it is theirs by virtue of a sale or grant by Guillelmus Capenegre. The parties have reached a composition on the basis that the bishop and his successors will receive an annual rent of 40 Saracen besants payable in two equal instalments on the kalends of January and the kalends of July. If the Hospitallers occupy the house for their own use, they will pay the bishop 10 Saracen [besants] on the dates specified.
