. July 31. Anagni. Pope Innocent IV writes to the archbishop of Tyre Gilles [de Saumur], relating that he decided to fulfil his request for the pallium, presented on his behalf by the canon of Tyre Master Guillaume [of Caesarea], whom the pope has entrusted to transmit the pallium to Bishop [Étienne] of Beirut, who will assign it to Gilles according to the form sent in the bull to him and receive from Gilles the oath the pope includes in the same bull. Gilles can wear the pallium in his cathedral during the various feasts specified in the privileges of his church.
