Pope Innocent IV writes to the Dominican Bishop Bartolomeo of Limassol, relating that, considering that out of human frailty many religious go to excess and incur a sentence of excommunication and mark of irregularity, and wishing to provide for his salvation and that of the Dominicans that the pope is allowing to stay with him, he grants the addressee the faculty of absolving and giving dispensation to the friars who require it, and he grants these friars the faculty of absolving and giving dispensation to addressee, unless the infraction is so serious that the Apostolic See should be consulted.
