. January 27. Lyons. Pope Innocent IV writes to the treasurer of Beirut Jourdain and the canon of Antioch the priest Jacques, relating that, since the cleric Pietro Cigala, son of the Genoese citizen Lanfranco Cigala, has been received as a canon and brother in the church of Paphos on papal authority, as Pietro asserts, the pope orders the addressees, once Pietro has obtained a prebend in that church, to have the fruits of the prebend (except for the daily distributions) paid to Pietro for five years, since he is studying letters, various obstacles notwithstanding.
