Pope Alexander IV writes to the master and brothers of the house of the knighthood of the Temple of Jerusalem, praising their role in support of the Holy Land in the arenga, and responding to their requests by granting that archbishops, bishops, and other prelates of churches shall be content with the right that they and their predecessors are known to have had hitherto with respect to them and the churches they have and hold, saving a fee (procuratio) if any is owed to them. If they try to seek or extort more, the addressees can refuse on apostolic authority.
