March 5. Lateran. Pope Alexander IV writes to Patriarch Jacobus [Pantaléon] of Jerusalem, papal legate, responding to his request by granting that Bishop Florentinus of Acre (Acconensis) cannot with any excuse or cause promulgate a sentence of excommunication, interdict, or suspension against or exercise any jurisdiction on his person, his clerics, or his other familiars because of any infraction, as long as they are not otherwise subject to the bishop, declaring null and void anything attempted by the bishop against this indulgence.
