March 1. Lateran. Pope Alexander IV writes to the prior of the Holy Cross of Nicosia (Nimotiensis) and Treasurer [Jordanus] Beritensis, relating that he was read the petition of Philippus de Paxano, his subdeacon, that claimed that on the authority of a letter of Pope I[nnocentius IV] Philippus was long ago received as a canon and brother in the church of Nicosia (Nicosiensis). But because Pope Alexander declared null and void receptions of those expecting prebends to be vacated in all churches, except for four, Philippus lost his reception and asked the pope to provide for him. The pope wants to give Philippus a special grace and grants him back his reception, notwithstanding the constitution the pope published on this, and he orders the prior and/or the treasurer to provide Philippus with the next vacant prebend in the church of Nicosia (Nicosiensis).
