May 5. Acre. Garinus, Michael and Petrus, monks of the former church of Mount Tabor write to Pope Alexander IV. They are pleased to accept that the pope has transferred the abbey and its properties to the Hospitallers, drawing attention to the past Muslim occupation of Mount Tabor itself and its possessions. They are able to report that the Hospitallers have now paid off the debts that the monastic community had contracted, that they have occupied Mount Tabor with the result that the divine office can resume and that they are consolidating their control of the monastic lands. As the monks have no seals of their own, they have asked Terricus, abbot of Mount Zion, and John abbot of S. Samuel of the Premonstratensian order to affix their seals.
