January 23. Naples. Pope Alexander IV writes to the prior of Sancta Crux in Cyprus, in the diocese of Nicosia (Nicosiensis), relating that he was informed on behalf of Huguetus son of the noble Henricus de Principe, and of the noble Isabella (Ysabella), daughter of the noble Guy of Ibelin (Guido de Ybellino), that although they are related to each other in the third degree of consanguinity on one side and in the fourth on the other from a different branch, they would like him to provide for them so that they can marry anyway. Inclined by their entreaties, the pope grants them a dispensation.
