. February 25. The Lateran. Pope Innocent IV writes to the prior provincial of the Friars Preacher (Dominicans) in Syria, and the provincial minister of the Friars Minor (Franciscans) in Syria, relating that, if the [cardinal-]bishop of Tusculum (Frascati) and papal legate [Eudes de Châteauroux] is absent, they are to confirm the election of George as archbishop of the Greeks of Cyprus, if it is canonical and of a worthy person, to have him shown fitting obedience and reverence, and to have his suffragans consecrate him, and if both addressees cannot, than one can.
