. May 29. Genoa. Pope Innocent IV writes to the provost of Aix[-en-Provence], ordering him to provide Canon Benedetto of Tripoli, son of the noble man J. (Giovanni) de Nigro, citizen of Genoa, with a rank or post (dignitate vel personatu) in a cathedral or other church in the County of Provence if one is now vacant, or as soon as he can, and to have him or his agent put in possession of it, various obstacles notwithstanding, including that he is otherwise beneficed and that he is not yet of age, as long as he is almost of age.
