Feb. 13. Lateran. Pope Innocent III informs the patriarch of Jerusalem that he has heard recounted in many letters that the count of Tripoli has imprisoned the patriarch of Antioch and his 2 nephews. He is saddened by the dissension between the count and the Knights Templar on one side and King Leon of Armenia and his nephew on the other. He asks the patriarch of Jerusalem to work for the liberation of the patriarch of Antioch and his nephews, to release the count from excommunication if he frees them, and to mediate between the count and the Templars and the king of Armenia.
