May 1-31. In honour of the western Emperor Henry VI and at the request of Samarus Tranensis archiepiscopus, who brought the grant of the kingdom of Cyprus with the sceptre, Aimery [in the text Guy de Luczignano] Dei gratia rex Cipri, makes a sealed grant to the citizens of Trani, giving them freedom to come and go, import and export merchandise and buy and sell in Cyprus without the payment of any commercium. Witnesses: Aimericus de Rivet; Raynaldus Barlais; Philippus de Bethsan; Raymericus de Biblio; Raynaldus de Sespes; Galterius de Berl.; Ailelmus frater ejus; Adam de Antiochia; Simon de Paph. The charter was drawn up by Alamiros. [252]
