Jul 12 1191 - soon after Apr. 5 1192? [242] Acre. The king [Guy], the chevaliers, borges and coumunes rule that par dreit ne par l’assise, the Grifons, Suriens, Jacobins, Nestorins, Samaritans, Judes, Mosserans, Ermines and all other Syrian nations [lengles Surienes] should live near the fonde en amont in Acre and not near the fonde en aval, because otherwise it will be hard for the lord to levy market charges on them.

[242] A demographic relocation of the magnitude suggested in this regulation could only have been envisaged in the fluid situation that prevailed in Acre, following its recovery by the Third Crusade. The ‘rois’ referred to would surely be Guy of Lusignan, not Count Henry of Champagne [as was suggested by Jacoby in ‘The fonde’, pp. 287-92].
