text: Mar 5. Lateran. Referring to the appeal of the queen of Cyprus and B., son of the count of Tripoli, brought to the Holy See by their emissaries, the magister scolarum Antiochenarum and W. de Rivetta miles, against the decision on the illegality of their marriage by the archbishop of Nicosia, on the grounds that their affinity is in the 5th, not the 4th, degree of consanguinity, Pope Honorius III orders the patriarch of Jerusalem and the bishop of Acre to investigate and reach a decision.

text: Jan. 2. Lateran. The bishop of Tripoli has informed the papacy of the number of churchmen beneficed in his church. Besides the 12 canons - a number confirmed by the Holy See - 2 further canons have been admitted on papal orders and others, having a yearly income of 100 besants, without victuals, have been appointed. Although the resources of the church have been weakened on account of the interdict, it is supporting a further 40 beneficed clergy, besides vicarii and stipendarii clerici. Pope Honorius III, therefore, assures that bishop that he is not obliged to accept any others recommended in papal letters, unless a specific reference is made.

Pope Honorius III informs the chapter of the church of Famagusta that although he had told them not to elect a new bishop without the licence of the Holy See, because Archbishop C. of Salerno [previously bishop of Famagusta] had not settled peacefully in his new see, he is glad to write that C. is now settled in his church and that the chapter may elect a new bishop.
